MY HITCHIN STUDIO
My newborn photography studio is nestled in the heart of Hitchin, Hertfordshire, creating the perfect opportunity to slow down and enjoy a little time for yourselves before or after your session. With independent coffee shops, bakeries and boutiques just a short stroll away, many families choose to make a morning of it, taking a moment to pause during those busy newborn days.

Inside the studio, you’ll find a calm and welcoming space designed with new parents in mind. Comfortable seating, refreshments and a carefully curated client wardrobe for both mums and babies mean there’s very little you need to think about before arriving. Everything has been thoughtfully prepared so you can simply settle in and enjoy the experience.

Settling your new baby
The heart of my newborn photography is connection. These first days are not simply about documenting how your baby looked, but preserving how it felt to hold them close. The weight of them in your arms, their tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the way they settle against your chest. Rather than relying on elaborate posing, I create images that centre around the relationship between you and your baby, allowing them to remain where they feel safest and most content.

When you look back at your photographs in twenty years’ time, I want you to see your family, not the trends of the moment.
My approach to newborn and family photography is intentionally simple, elegant and connection-led. Rather than relying on themed setups, novelty props or heavily styled trends that can quickly feel dated, I focus on the things that will never go out of fashion: love, connection and the unique relationships that make your family yours.

The earlier the better! My newborn sessions are limited as I only book a 8 per month to allow myself the flexibility to reschedule sessions for babies that arrive earlier or later than due. These sessions get booked up quickly, so if you are thinking of booking a sessions. Please do so as early as possible.

Most of my newborn sessions take place in my serene, natural light studio centrally locate in Hitchin High Street. This is a beautiful space that I have designed for you to feel comfortable and relaxed in.
I also offer in home sessions if you would rather embrace the comfort of your own home and wish to document this special time in your own space. There is an additional £50 charge on top of your package cost for in home sessions.

My newborn sessions are very much baby-led so each session varies in length. Typically my sessions last between 2 and 3 hours - this depends on how settled baby is during the shoot and if there are siblings or other members of the family to capture. I do not like to rush curating the best gallery possible for you so please allow 3 hours for your session.

As a mum of two myself and an experienced newborn photographer, I am very well versed with the rollercoaster ride that comes hand in hand with newborns! Please don’t worry about this, my sessions are very much led by baby. If thy want to be held all the time, then so be it. I allow plenty of time during our session for feeds and cuddles and I am (if I say so myself) quite skilled at settling even the most cranky baby!

Don’t stress Mama, I got you!
Once you have confirmed your booking by paying your deposit, I will send you my shoot preparation and styling guide. This will give you all the information you need to create gorgeous and cohesive outfits for your shoot.
Or go one better and let me take all of the stress from you and use a selection of my gorgeous client dresses. All individually selected by me to be comfortable, flattering and photographs beautifully. Most dresses are loose fitting with options to tighten and will fit a size range between 8 - 18.

My newborn sessions are £395 and include 10 high-resolution digital files to download as soon as your gallery is ready. You will receive both high-resolution (large size file formats suitable for printing large format prints and wall art) and web-size files (suitable for social media posts).
If you simply can’t narrow your selections down to 10 you can upgrade your package within your gallery.

You will receive your gallery within 3-4 weeks of your shoot date.
